Jack graduated from Boston College Law School with a Juris Doctor degree and ranked in the top 10% of his class. He is admitted to practice in all state Courts of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, The United States District Court for the District of Massachusetts, and The United States Court of Appeals for the First Circuit. He has also been admitted to practice in the courts of several other states on a case by case basis.

FIRM HISTORY

Jack and his father, legendary trial lawyer John F. Finnerty, founded their original Boston law firm, Finnerty & Finnerty, in 1971. His father was portrayed in the book and movie, “The Verdict”, starring Paul Newman and James Mason, with the plot involving one of the firm’s cases. After his father’s death in 1994, Jack became Senior Partner in Finnerty & Finnerty, and in 2006 he founded a new smaller firm, Finnerty Law Offices, located in Boston and Cape Cod.

The firm is listed in Martindale-Hubbell’s Bar Register of Preeminent Attorneys as a specialty litigation firm for both individuals and major corporations. Jack has dedicated his practice to aggressively litigating a broad spectrum of cases throughout Massachusetts and several other states and has achieved an enviable record of success in court.
